941Express 2008 is now available for download. This version includes unprecedented enhancements including the ability to send batched returns directly to the IRS EMS system without leaving 941Express. This feature utilizes the new IRS SSL Encryption option and sends all data through the Internet. No more dial-up connections or Terminal Emulation packages. We have also incorporated PDF Multi-Print from Acrobotics within our distribution to allow for effective batch printing within 941Express. We continue to support our Advanced Reporting Agent functions will allow for importing of Excel and Tab delimited files. We continue to expand the features within this product in response to our Reporting Agent customers in the quest of providing the most comprehensive e-file product available. Reporting Agent and Features of our 2008 release are as follows:

1.	Includes the ability to use IRS SSL Encryption directly from 941Express. There is now no need to leave the software to send your returns to the IRS.
2.	Includes the ability determine when updates for 941Express are available within the product.
3.	We are introducing our Import Feature which will allow an agent to load all of their Company data and Return data from our Excel Template (941) Spreadsheet. No manual data entry is necessary. The templates for 940 and 944 returns are included in the product.
4.	941Express now supports a Tab Delimited Text File as an import medium. See our Text File Template (941) for an example of this import option. The templates for the 940 and 944 are included in the product.
5.	Reporting Agents can use 941Express as an Indirect Filer and have Lewis Software perform all Transmissions to the IRS. This eliminates the technical complexity of testing with the IRS and understanding the transfer process and allows you to focus on your business. 6.	941Express still provides the only unlimited transmission option for Reporting Agents who file their returns direct with the IRS.
7.	941Express has the ability to send payments for Balance Due accounts as long as they adhere to IRS deposit requirements.
8.	A new Batch Transmission option is available for Indirect Agents that will save significant time in transmitting your returns to Lewis Software Associates, LLC.
9.	941Express prints using the actual IRS template for each 940, 941 and 944 form.
10.	A Verification module checks all returns for common errors and allows you to resolve them prior to transmission.

Reporting Agents - Direct Transmitters

941Express can be registered for unlimited use for one full year for a very reasonable price. 941Express will allow you to keep all of your customer contact information as well as all of the returns that have been electronically filed for each customer. Reporting Agents - Indirect Transmitters

941Express can now be used by Reporting Agents as a tool to transfer electronic returns through Lewis Software to the IRS. This is desirable for many agents who do not want to deal with the testing process along with managing the return filing process. You simply originate the returns via import, or directly in 941Express and when completed, batch transfer all returns through the Internet to us. We will take care of the rest by filing the returns and providing an acknowledgment. There is a per-return fee for this option and please refer to our pricing page below for more details.

The Reporting Agent Transmitter will follow these steps to use this software.

1. You must be identified as a Reporting Agent by the IRS. In order to have this happen, you must send a (Form 8655) which authorizes you to send tax returns electronically to the IRS for each of your clients along with a valid taxpayer listing. This paperwork must be mailed to the Ogden Service Center. You must also file an online (Form 8633) with the IRS using their new Online e-Services product. This form has many purposes, the first is that it provides an EFIN ( Electronic Filer Identification Number ) that the IRS is requiring for Business filers as well as Individual. The second purpose is that it specifies the filing options that the Reporting Agent will use to file their business returns. Just specify in Section 5, that you will be using 941Express as you product and it will utlize the XML Specification for its data format. Pending acceptance into the program, you will receive from the IRS a transmitter ID, Password and Personal Identification number for testing. These are used in signing the returns and secure access to the IRS system. Click here for more detailed information on e-File requirements.

2. You have access to transmit returns using port 992 through the Internet from your local system. This mechanism is used send all files to the IRS EMS System.

3. You must license 941Express using the Activate Software, Activate Online menu options within the product. All of the information provided by the IRS will be entered on the ERO/Agent Information once you receive your license information via e-mail.

4. Now you must place the 941Express software into test mode and transmit our 4 test returns to the IRS. These returns already exist in the software product. Once you have been accepted by the IRS, they will give you a permanent PIN and password which is to be used for production mode.

5. Now you are ready to prepare your returns using 941Express and create batch files that can be transmitted to the IRS. The software must be taken out of test mode before creating all batch files once testing is complete.
